Cantamus is a choir of about 24 able singers. Our repertoire is almost entirely unaccompanied, in anything from 4 to 10 parts. It ranges from English and European madrigals to music from the 21st century; from the challenging to the disarmingly simple, and from the deepest tingle-factor to the utterly frivolous. We perform for music societies, for charitable and private events in the South Midlands and the North Cotswolds.
Cantamus rehearses at the Catholic Parish Centre, Darlingscote Road, on Tuesdays at 7.30 pm.
This is a choir for experienced singers; if you wish to join we will audition you within the choir.

Shipston Music Society
The Music Society meets usually on the 3rd Friday of each month from September to June starting at 7.30pm.
Our aim is to foster and encourage an appreciation of music in its various forms and to promote an exchange of views and friendly relationships between our members.
Our programme includes a wide range of music from Classical to Jazz and Cappella to Opera. We try to include something that will appeal to a wide range of musical tastes.
The Society is a registered charity and works closely with the other music organisations in and around Shipston and as part of our outreach we have secured grants and sponsorship to bring live music into our care homes and professional musicians into our schools.
Membership is open to everyone with an interest in music.
The Society if affiliated to Making Music, the UK's number one organisation for voluntary music.
Shipston on Stour Twinning Association
Shipston is twinned with Torigni-sur-Vire in Normandy, France and twinning visits take place in England and France alternate years.
We usually travel by coach to France and a full and varied programme is arranged for the time spent with our French hosts. Living the French way of life for a few days is a fantastic experience and lasting friendships have been made over the years.
The ability to speak French is not essential as many of our French families speak English well. We have many French host families wishing to twin and often not enough host families in Shipston and the surrounding area.
We are a friendly group and welcome new members. Please get in touch if you would be interested in joining us – we would love to hear from you.

Stour Singers is the choral society for rural South Warwickshire. 'Community music-making at its best' (Stratford Herald) We offer an exciting and ambitious programme of major choral works which includes many of the all-time favourites and some little-known masterpieces. Stour Singers was formed as a community choir in 1975 and is a mixed choir of about 80 singers. Our members come from a wide area including South Warwickshire and neighbouring North Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire We do not have auditions. There are many very able and experienced singers in the choir, but we do welcome beginners. Students join for free. All we ask is a love and enthusiasm for music, and a desire to sing. Need help with sight-singing? We produce CDs of the individual parts so that less experienced singers can get to know the music at their own pace.
Stour Singers rehearse at the Primary School on Thursday evenings, at 7.30.p.m., from September to May.
